The culminating events for the newly-revived Youth Writers Competition are coming up! This first year pilot has been a collaboration between EMAAC and Zuni Middle School, and a “Story Fair” will take place there (17 Zuni Mid School Dr, across from Major Market) on Friday, November 6, 5:30-6:30pm. Students will discuss their stories, story-writing process, and story-visualization at booths in the school gymnasium. This inaugural year’s theme is Stories to Walk Behind.
8 students will be chosen to present their stories and visualizations to an EMAAC audience at the Old School Gallery (4009 Ice Caves Road/Route 53) on Saturday, November 21 at 1pm. Snacks will be provided.
Please consider coming to one or both of these events to support these young people in their creative endeavors! The program gives young writers a real audience for their voices and brings neighbors together to celebrate the next generation of storytellers. Both events are free and open to the public.
