In April, the the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) awarded $120,000 to two institutions and one organization to advance and support humanities initiatives in New Mexico:

  • Las Cruces, $6,000.00 to the New Mexico State University for The “Insanity” of Colonialism: Mental Health in New Mexico, 1889–1930
  • Los Lunas, $60,000 to the University of New Mexico, Valencia for Centering Humanities Curriculum around Cultural Relevance at a Small, Rural, Hispanic-Serving Institution
  • Santa Fe, CENTER, $60,000 for Activating the Archive: Preserving 21st-Century Photography
