MUSEO DE LA GENTE events will take place Friday and Saturday October 23 and 24: a concert by Música del Aire, a group formed in 2015 in Albuquerque. Their intention is to honor our musical ancestors, including Antonia Apodaca (whose son, José is in the band). The group sings Boleros, rancheras, cumbias, folk songs, polkas, gospel, bossa nova, weaving English and Spanish in music that comes from New Mexico, México and Latin America and featuring guitar, vihuela, violin, mandolin, and voice.
Música del Aire Director Cynthia Wooley, will read from her book, Grandes Amores: Interviews with Vibrant Elders. The program includes inter- generational writing and music workshop.
