The New Mexico Humanities Council is excited to announce the addition of our new Quick Grant line! We are now accepting applications. Please sign up for our grant application announcement newsletter to receive upcoming details.
This Quick Grant line was developed in order to be more responsive to the needs of communities and to increase humanities programming throughout the state. We are also aiming to shorten the time frame between when an application is submitted and when the initial payment is issued.
This new Quick Grant line is distinctly different from our Major Grant line in multiple ways.
- It is accessible year-round.
- Applications can be submitted during the last week of every month.
- The questions in the application have been abbreviated.
- Funding support is available up to $2,000 to support individual events, rather than entire projects.
- Funding support can also be used for one or two specific line items which differs from our Major Grant line.
IMPORTANT INFO TO KNOW:
- PRIOR TO APPLYING: Schedule a grant consultation using our Calendly Booking system, found under the “Grants” menu item on our website: NewMexicoHumanities.org. Organizations that are interested should ensure that both the Fiscal Agent and Project Director are able to attend. You can schedule your grant consultation today.
- PRELIMINARY REGISTRATION: Eensure your organization has a current Unique Entity Identification number that is actively registered with SAM.gov. Additionally, create a profile for your organization in our Foundant grants management portal.
- APPLICATION REVIEW PROCESS: Staff will review applications to ensure that: 1) organizations are eligible to receive federal funding; 2) the activities listed are allowable; and 3) the budget clearly demonstrates it is compliant with grant guidelines.
- FUNDING LIMITATIONS: No more than three applications will be funded in a month. The first three applications to meet the criteria above will move forward. If multiple applications meet the criteria, the strongest proposals will be selected. Applications that do not fully meet the criteria will be returned back to draft status, and your organization can reapply after meeting with NMHC staff to discuss areas to improve project clarity and compliance.E
